 Purpose: To identify and critically evaluate the scientific literature, to synthesize information, and use it in writing a graduate level research paper. Requirements: Conduct a comprehensive search of the professional literature using strategies Your paper should be 9-10 pages of text (not including your references or abstract page) You are expected to review and critically evaluate all relevant information. Headings should be used in your paper. You should have a minimum of 15 references in your paper. These must be from refereed professional journals. One of the 15 articles should be a systematic review or meta-analysis. (You can use Cochrane database to find a systematic review. Original research includes a research question, review of the literature, participants and methodology, and results. References should be current. Summarize the information and synthesize it into a paper that is well organized and well written. Textbooks and other secondary sources may be referenced, but do not count toward the 15 required primary source references. All of the major points must be supported by references to the professional literature. Do not rely on a single source for sections of the paper. You should not rely upon a few sources as you write the paper but use all your references. Class notes or discussions with your colleagues and instructors may not be referenced. Be certain to document ALL sources in the body of the paper as well as in the list of references according to the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition and the APA supplement.
