Purpose: To introduce your reader to 5-6 essays, presentations, or projects (AKA “artifacts”) that inform the way you currently think about your essay’s wicked question/problem. In other words, these should be important projects that you can remember and reflect upon.

My wicked question was … “What are some ways to use dance therapy’s positive effects to help people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds overcome social barriers and achieve general well-being?”

Types of Artifacts: Choose at least 1 artifact from each knowledge area. These may be essays, lab reports, presentations, or other projects from courses you have taken or internships you have completed. Be sure to include 5-6 artifacts.

Length: At least 5 paragraphs long. / Approximately 1,000+ words / Approximately 4-5 pages

Citations: Each artifact should be cited according to MLA or APA. You are the author. Include the title of the artifact, the date it was created, the course it was created for, and type of project it is (ex. Essay, PowerPoint, Lab Report, etc.). See the template that follows.

Note: Each artifact need not be directly related to the question you are addressing in your capstone essay. For instance, your question may be: How can we help teenagers to be more empathetic? You might reflect on an essay you wrote in an art history class about the Degas painting Two Laundresses, noting that the subject of this painting are women who are weary from work. Your essay may have examined Degas’s empathy for his working-class subjects. In your capstone essay, you will be proposing using artwork to help students tune into the problems of others.

Again, be sure to choose at least 5 artifacts, at least one from each of the 3 knowledge areas your
