Examine the historical evolution of the identity of the following groups:

  1. Indian-Americans (Asian-Indian descent)
  2. Irish-Americans
  3. Chinese-Americans

What was their ethnic identity when they arrived in the United States? How did it change over time? What factors contributed to this evolution? In 500-750 words per ethnic group, address the development of each. Restrict your analysis from the mid-19th to the mid-20th centuries. Use a minimum of three sources per group, with a mix of primary and secondary sources. See the suggested readings list for this topic as a place to begin your research. However, these may not be the only sources you use.
