The purpose of the assignment is to provide students the opportunity to design a research project meant to improveperformance of an athletic team (or any group that fits personal career aspirations) by applying sports psychologyprinciples studied in class. Students submit a 5-7 page paper using the headings below.OVERVIEW OF ASSIGNMENT* Students originate, research, and design a team performance-improvement project* Students complete the project independently (this is not a group project)* The project should focus on an aspect of sport or exercise psychology of personal interest* Use text slide shows and course materials to help you decide on a focus/topic* The project should be designed to enhance sport or exercise performance for an athletic team or a group of your choosing* prior approval of instructor is required for all students so as to avoid overlapCOMPONENTS OF ASSIGNMENT Paper Content (APA Format): Title Page Introduction Hypothesis or Guiding Questions Methodology Results/Findings Discussion Significance Suggestions for Future Research References

Research Idea; My thesis topic is whether or not players’ motivation and performance will increase if they write feelings, goals, and attributes they would like to work on before games. I think this method can be useful for inspiring motivation and a desire to improve if an athlete takes the time to write out and explain the performance they hope to achieve. If successful, this method can help athletes become more motivated and achieve higher levels of performance.
