DEVIANT AND IT’S CONSEQUENCES ASSIGNMENT

Choose a deviant behavior to research. Locate references (e.g., current news stories, pop culture, and reality TV shows) that convey deviant behavior being accepted or rejected/scorned.

Choose a current reality TV show, specific song or artist, or current news story to analyze deviant behavior that is either accepted or rejected. Research this specific deviant behavior to analyze the impact it can have on society.

Using a minimum of two scholarly sources, summarize your findings in a 1,000-1,250-word essay that addresses the following prompts:

· Describe the deviant behavior. Analyze why it would be considered deviant in today’s culture.

· Explain the demographics of the group that witnessed the behavior.

· Explain how the group reacted to the behavior.

· Analyze how the group attempted to control this deviant behavior. If they did not try to control the behavior, analyze why they did not.
