How do you want to position yourself in relation to students? For example, it may be as a subject expert, an open and approachable teacher, ‘tech savvy’, someone who creates interesting and unexpected moments in class, a well-prepared and professional presenter, a teacher who expects high standards of their students or any combination of a range of positions.

Does faculty-student position vary with different groups of students depending, for instance, on their stage of study? What do you do to help to position yourself in this way or do you just let it happen? Explain why.
