The reflection paper synthesizes the knowledge gained in the course to achieve the learning outcomes and AACN Essential Competencies related to informatics, patient safety, and healthcare technology. Summarize your understanding of the course content and informatics competencies, identify areas where you increased your competency level and areas for opportunity, and further review.

Review the following Course Learning Outcomes:

· CLO 1 Explore the best evidence-based practices for the application of information and communication technologies used to support patient care at the person, population, and systems levels. (PLO 2, 8)

· CLO 2 Analyze the impact of state and federal policies and regulations on information and communication technology use in assessing and monitoring quality outcomes, organizational performance, and patient-centered care. (PLO 5, 7, 8)

· CLO 3 Assess potential ethical, legal, and regulatory issues associated with information and communication technology used to support patient-centered care and advance population health outcomes. (PLO 1, 8)

· CLO 4 Evaluate the impact of health information exchange, interoperability, and integration to promote engaged patient-centered care and to improve population health outcomes. (PLO 2, 6, 8)

· CLO 5 Design risk mitigation and security strategies to protect health information and reduce misuse of information and communication technology. (PLO 7, 8)
