  • Consider the message of the talk and what resonates with you, in the context of social work practice. 

Post your response to Laura van Dernoot Lipsky’s TEDx talk. What is the message of the talk? What resonated with you and why?  

Then, consider the talk in the context of a social worker working with trauma survivors in the current social climate. What is the danger in “numbing out”? Why is this especially relevant now?
