The organization: Community Hospital

Transitioning from volume-based to value-based healthcare delivery impacts multiple aspects of an organization. Healthcare administrators need to shift the way they approach scheduling, workflows, financial management, practice optimization, compliance, and credentialing. On top of that, changing models requires a shift in organizational culture, and this is no small feat. Being successful in this transition starts and ends with leadership. Leaders must ensure that the transition puts the least amount of strain on the organization and the staff and understand the needs of the population to develop appropriate payment models.

In this Assignment, you will analyze various aspects of transitioning from volume to value-based healthcare and prepare a presentation for an organization that is beginning that change.

You have been asked to give a presentation to a neighboring facility that is preparing to transition from volume-to-value-based healthcare delivery. They have asked about your organization’s transition and the benefits associated.

To complete this Assignment, you will prepare an eight-slide PowerPoint presentation with audio narration inserted on each slide. Each slide should follow presentation best practices (e.g., bullet points, limited words, visually appealing) with additional explanation included in the narration. In other words, do not read a slide verbatim for your audio narration. In your presentation, address each of the following prompts:

· Slide 1: Title Slide

· No audio narration is required on this slide.

· Slide 2: Defining the Transition from Volume to Value

· Explain what it means for healthcare to transition from volume to value.

· Slide 3: Reducing Healthcare Costs

· Analyze the typical meaning of reducing healthcare costs 5–10 years ago.

· Slide 4: Waste in Healthcare

· Describe one or two examples of waste in healthcare.

· Slide 5: Providing High-Quality Care

· Analyze how transitioning from volume to value changes the meaning of providing high-quality care.

· Slide 6: Successful Transitions from Volume to Value

· Describe the factors that contribute to successful transitions from volume to value.

· Slide 7: Exciting Transitions

· Explain what excited you most about transitioning from volume to value.

· Slide 8: References

· Support your responses with scholarly sources.

· No audio narration is required on this slide.
