Apply knowledge about IO skills/procedures to address current issues in the workplace.

Instructions for Submission:

Nearly two years of pandemic living has caused many people to think differently about their work and their well-being. Many organizations have struggled to keep their doors open during the pandemic while others had their employees work from home. Some organizations were able to adapt quickly to update policies and procedures and adopt new practices to support their employees, while others have struggled every step of the way. These types of adjustments require leadership to take their eye off the bottom line and focus their attention on doing what is right to support employee well-being and build a stronger more resilient workforce for the future.

Complete the following:

  • Read the SIOP White Paper, Employee Wellbeing in the Face of a Pandemic: Organizational and Managerial Responses to COVID-19.
  • Watch the TED Talk Video, Why Work Doesn’t Happen at Work by Jason Fried.  to an external site.
  • For this assignment, you have been asked by your HR manager to develop a proposal for three initiatives the organization can implement to help improve employee morale and well-being. Your initiatives should be designed with your organization and workforce in mind.
    • For example, if you work in an essential business or healthcare, you cant propose a work from home arrangement. Be sure to review what other organizations are doing to ensure your initiatives will be valued by your workforce and keep your organization competitive in the marketplace.

Format/Content Requirements:  •    The paper is to be clear and concise and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation, and misspelling. •    The paper is to be no shorter than 4 pages in length and no more than 8 pages in length. The student will automatically lose points if these limits are not followed. •    Journal articles and books should be referenced according to APA style (the library has a copy of the APA Manual).  •    The work should be academic, written in an academic voice, and use at least 3 scholarly sources.
