Week 7 – Assignment: Develop a Risk Management Plan to Contain Communicable Disease Outbreak

This week, you examined the benefits of having internal policies and procedures for staff and patients. Often these policies are extensions of state and federal law and serve as a reference point for managers and staff to ensure compliance. For this assignment, you have the opportunity to develop a risk management plan to contain a highly contagious communicable disease outbreak. Be sure to include:

1. The purpose of the risk management plan, including the specific disease you are attempting to contain.

2. Signs and symptoms you plan on monitoring.

3. The process of monitoring, controlling and reporting a potential identified risk.

4. Any legal or ethical concerns including isolation or quarantine practices.
