Psychological Theories in Today’s Reading Materials

SLO: Analyze lifespan developmental theories and perspectives, to include developmental issues and

periods from conception to death, apply developmental psychological content to real-life situations to

include individual differences, beliefs, values, and interpersonal relationships, and develop critical

thinking skills.

This assignment provides a glimpse at the relationship between psychological theories and methods,

and everyday reading materials and information.

For this assignment, find 2 articles on human development from parenting or other popular magazines.

Go to the IHCC Library, on the left side of your screen, click on Library Databases, enter the username

and password (can be found under ASSIST on the blue navigation area before entering the course) select

one of the following databases to find your articles: Bridges, Newsbank: America’s News, Gale General

OneFile, or EBSCO. Once in a database, search “human development in psychology.” Make sure to

select magazines and your articles must be dated within five (5) years. Read your articles.

In one document, prepared a detailed response answering each of the following questions. Make sure to

add detail to your responses for both articles following the format below.
