Your last assignment asked you to investigate the relationship between the sources you found thus far as you attempted synthesis. With your synthesis completed, we will be moving forward with a thesis based 8-page assignment focused on proving your arguments.

* Your topic should remain the same from your research synthesis. This means you will using elements from paper # 2 but we will be revamping the paper to focus on a more argumentative style in this paper. Deviation from your initial topic will not be allowed *

What will you “do” in your essay? You will aim to practice several writing strategies:

Thesis: Presents a coherent and well-structured thesis which embodies the main key concepts of your paper.

Critical Analysis: You will engage in a critical analysis of your sources, examining underlying assumptions, biases, and implications of research findings. You will apply analytical reasoning to interpret the significance of research findings and their relevance to the research question.

Counter Argument: You will present a clear and concise counterargument that challenges the main thesis statement or central argument of the paper. You will address this counterargument in a fair and objective manner, acknowledging its validity while reaffirming the strength of the main argument.

APA Formatting: You will follow APA style which contains a title page includes the paper title, student’s name, institutional affiliation, and running head formatted according to APA guidelines. Abstract provides a concise summary of the research paper, including the research topic, objectives, methods, key findings, and implications.

What sources will you use? Your Research Essay must include 6-10 sources comprised of the following: ***You should have 3 sources from Paper # 2: Research Synthesis***

4-5 scholarly sources specific to your topic that you locate. This can take the form of a peer-reviewed academic research article, a chapter in a scholarly book, a scholarly website (.edu), or reference work (e.g., encyclopedia).

2-3 non-scholarly sources. Otherwise, locate sources such as websites (public affairs, advocacy, government, commercial), statistics, essays, articles (newspaper, magazine, blog), press releases, documentaries, and literature.

General requirements. Your Researched should be 9-10 pages (12-point font, double spaced). This paper will follow APA format within the body of your essay that includes a cover page, abstract, references page, and please compose a relative and inviting title for your essay.

Abstract: + 1 page

Revised Paper # 2: +3 pages

Additions for Paper # 3: + 4 pages

Reference: + 1 page

*Paper # 3 should be a minimum of 4 additional pages
