Now that you have identified the initiative, the related student outcome that needs
improvement, and the best population of teachers to support the effort; next steps are
how to begin the Instructional Coaching process. As you read, the best way to start
coaching is to start coaching (Knight, 2022, p. ). Before you can start, you will need to
identify what is already in place, what is not in place that you would need to create, and
potential speed bumps that could slow your implementation. Reflecting on these areas
will help prepare you to begin coaching.
