Before you submit Final Project Step 1, make sure you ve read Final Project Instructions and downloaded the data you’ll need for the final project (an Excel Spreadsheet).
To complete this assignment successfully, follow the steps listed below:
(Step 1): Download the data set: Final Project Data.
(Step 2): In a MS Word document name two variables selected from the data provided that you plan to use for your Final Project and find one scholarly journal article that you will use to support your work.
- Font: 12 point TNR or Helvetica
- Reference Style: APA 7th Edition
(Step 3): Describe each variables level of measurement (i.e. drug use in the past 30 days is measured as a ratio level variable, etc.). You can also report the frequency, mean or median (descriptive statistics), report depending on level of measurement, of course, but this is not required.
(Step 4): Write one research question and one null and research hypothesis about what you would expect to find about the relationship between two variables.
Ex. Research Question: Is there a relationship between probation status and a person’s sex?
HO: There is a not relationship between probation status and a person’s sex.
H1: There is a relationship between probation status and a person’s sex.
**Note: These will change depending on which test you choose.
(Step 5): Using Excel, create a chart or graph to graphically depict both variables.
- Your charts or graphs should contain all the following elements, which you’ll need to succeed on the final project: Labels, titles, and axis labels.
- Place these two charts or graphs in your MS Word document, and you’re done!
- Make sure you choose a type of chart or graph that is best for the level of measurement of your variable.
- * For the Final Project you will also need frequency tables for your variables*
You will upload all of this as one document (see attached example). If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
