1. Discuss the each of the following possible causes of a child with chronic constipation and the tests/labs needed to rule the diagnosis in or out. Make sure to list each condition and provide the answers below the listed condition.

a. Constipation present since birth or early infancy.

b. Persistently narrow diameter stools.

c. Failure to gain weight/weight loss.

d. Abdominal distention.

2. Include the following components:

a. write 250-300 words in a Microsoft Word document

b. demonstrate clinical judgment appropriate to the virtual patient scenario. The virtual patient scenario involved a 4 year old male that has leaking stool in his underwear later diagnosed with encopresis. The treatment involves cleaning the colon starting him on miralax. Increasing foods with high fiber, and increasing daily fluids.

c. cite at least two relevant scholarly sources within 5 years that are meant for doctors and nurses. Not the general public.

d. communicate with minimal errors in English grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.
