Program Evaluation

The name of the agency I am planning to evaluate is Safe Journey House. It is located in Maryland and has four branches within the state of Maryland. Here is the website for the agency:

Safe Journey House is an agency that provides an alternative to hospitalization for people experiencing psychiatric crises and aims to shorten inpatient psychiatric hospital stays. It collaborates with Prince George’s County Psychiatric Hospital, which is located in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The main ethical issue in consulting a social service agency is patient confidentiality. This can be overcome by using personal identifying numbers, such as medical record numbers or unique numbers generated for each individual.

I will be using the agency website and not directly interviewing anyone at the agency. However, if needed, I could consider contacting the managers, as I was an employee of the agency many years ago and am familiar with the staff.
