The name of the agency that I will be evaluating in this course will be The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
The ethical issues involved with being a consultant for this social service agency include several key concerns. As far as confidentiality goes, the program evaluators must prioritize confidentiality to protect all client data. All collected data needs to be made anonymous with no personally identifiable information (PII) appearing in reports or distributed to people beyond the evaluation team. Direct client interaction requires obtaining informed consent. Other ethical or legal issues to be considered may include the evaluators needing to conduct their work in a way that protects clients and staff from harm while working towards improving the agency’s effectiveness and ethical standards, HIIPA compliance, and IRB approval.
I will be using the agency website, therefor not directly interviewing anyone.
