Purpose of the Assignment:

The field of IO Psychology extensively utilizes both quantitative and qualitative research methods to gather information about human behavior in the workplace. For this assignment, you will write a research proposal to address a problem within the field of industrial-organizational psychology. The problem may be framed within any discipline (e.g., psychology, sociology, business).

*Create the research proposal on the use of psychometric testing and assessments in the workplace 

Instructions for this Submission: 

Your proposal should include the following:

  • Provide an introduction that includes a statement of the problem or research question, your hypothesis/hypotheses.
  • Relevant background literature review using a minimum of 8 scholarly sources. Be sure to address how your research will contribute to the body of literature in this area.
  • Methods section that includes a discussion of your subjects or participants (or organization), research design and procedures, and any materials that will be used (e.g., survey, interview, assessments, etc.).
  • Results section that includes an overview of the relevant types of data that will be collected and any types of analysis that will be conducted.
  • Discussion section that details the implications of the study.
  • References

Format/Content Requirements:  

  • The proposal is to be clear and concise, and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation and misspelling.
  • The proposal is to be no shorter than 8 pages in length and no more than 12 pages in length.
  • Journal articles and books should be referenced according to APA style (the library has a copy of the APA Manual).
